Technology giant Google blocked its Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool “Gemini” from responding to user requests related to imminent elections, as in the case of the 2024 elections in Brazil.

The restriction comes in response to the risks identified in the use of AI to produce electoral propaganda, but also fake news and information that seeks to negatively influence voters. During the 2024 elections, the Superior Electoral Court must be even more attentive to issues related to disinformation, as it will be the first time that Artificial Intelligence (AI) will be sufficiently widespread to reach a wider audience and bring greater impacts to the election.

In an interview with the BeInCrypto Brasil portal, Guilherme Guidi, our head of the Digital Law area, explains that AI brings new possibilities for the creation of content in different fields, but it also increases the risks of producing false content.
